We’ve taken the mezzanine to new heights! The low couch and chairs have been cleared out to make way for a riser to elevate the view. How about a great mezzanine ticket deal to check it all out? Include your partners and friends at the next show by using our Group Mezzanine Rate. Purchase five tickets and the sixth ticket is FREE! A section of the mezzanine will be sectioned off just for your party! Planning on a bigger group? Contact us at info@5pointsmusic.com for rates.

It’s taking place at the Sedalia Center in Bedford County and you should pitch a tent and join us! Find out more at http://torchly.io/usblues.

Open Mic Nite is SUNDAY! This will be our only Open Mic in July as we host House of Waters & Jonathan Scales Fourchestra on July 21st. Open Mic is FREE so come down and let’s make some music!

GROOVA SCAPE OPENING FOR RON HOLLOWAY

The Ron Holloway Band will be here in just a week! Constantly in demand, Ron has been a frequent special guest of Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, Grace Potter, Taj Mahal, Widespread Panic, Dumpstaphunk, Devon Alman, Southern Royal Brotherhood, and Melvin Seals and JGB. His latest project is a sax-driven funk machine! We’ve also added funk and soul band Groova Scape to the bill for a huge Thursday night jam!

8-BIT BURLESQUE

Franki Boom Boom is the queen of cool concepts. Who else would have thought to combine vintage gaming and burlesque? This SUNDAY the Out of Body collective will bring 80’s nostalgia to the Sanctuary with 8-Bit Burlesque! Will your favorite video game make it to the stage? Here’s what we know about the players:

Rusty Dawn is a USMC veteran turned showgirl hailing from the North Carolina coast! She brings a variety of acts to the stage with her burlesque, sideshow, and aerial performances.

Meccakhan, formerly known as Nova Noir, is now upgraded to version 2.0. She’s a sister to the sun and has dropped from the sky to spew sin and sexuality all over the stage.

Caza Blanca is the Lovechild of Tim Curry & Marilyn Monroe! She has not always been a burlesque beauty. She is a classically trained actress having studied Shakespeare, drama, puppetry, comedy, and avant-garde in merry ol’ England.

Claudia Vainglory of Riot Kittens in NC makes her 5 Points debut. This international babe just returned from France to grace our stage and steal our hearts!

And last but not least, Franki Boom Boom is the founder of Grave Dancers Burlesque and pretty much created the burly scene in Roanoke, VA. She took her history in traditional belly dance, pin up modeling and love of all things spooky ooky to create the boom-boom she is today.

Reserve your seats before their gone!

WIN A 3-DAY PASS TO FLOYDFEST 19!

Which days would you choose? FloydFest is packed with incredible bands. Swing by the Phish Summer Couch Tour this FRIDAY 6/21 to put your name in the running for a 3-Day Pass!

What’s goes on at the Couch Tour? We dim the lights, crank up the sound system, and stock the bar to watch Phish’s livestream in the comfort and good vibes of the Sanctuary. And it’s FREE! So which days are you picking? Sunday’s line-up is like, WOW!

FREEKBASS W. SAMMI GARRETT OF TURKUAZ

Virtuoso bass player FREEKBASS has been hailed by the legendary Bootsy Collins as The new spiritual warrior of the funk. Hailing from Cincinnati, FREEKBASS and his group, The Bump Assembly, are deeply rooted in funk, cultivated under the guidance of legendary funk masters like Bernie Worrell, George Porter Jr., Dumpstaphunk and Bootsy, just to name a few. Known for his energetic live show and ignited low-end, FREEKBASS brings danceable tunes with hints of Prince, David Bowie, Talking Heads and P-Funk. A staple on the festival and club touring circuit, his band consists of Rico Lewis on drums, a 13-year veteran of George Clintons Mothership, Sky White from Foxy Shazam on keys and the vocal duties are shared between funk queen Sammi Garrett from Turkuaz and the beautiful songstress Reilly Comisar. With a brand new album out in May 2019 under the Color Red label (Denver based New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts), the excitement for what is next is simply too much to contain. A FREEKBASS performance is for those who want to move, to groove, and to experience an event where the show and the music are one, creating a powerful visual and sonic experience that is not to be missed.

NORA JANE STRUTHERS

Nora Jane Struthers is “remarkable,” says Ann Powers of NPR Music, and writes music that is “as powerful as anything Jason Isbell released this year.” The songs that last decades and weave themselves into the fabric of listeners’ lives are usually the ones in which an artist lays her soul bare for the world to hear. Struthers’ new album Champion, released at the close of 2017, is built on these kinds of songs. Struthers wrote and recorded the album with her longtime road band the Party Line, and the chemistry between her and the other players is palpable. Champion is the follow-up to 2015’s Wake, and earned Struthers acclaim from major outlets like NPR’s Fresh Air, Rolling Stone, and Vice/Noisey, who raved that “Nora Jane Struthers and her band sound ready to take over Americana completely … bringing a fuller, harder sound to the table.”

JOHN PAPA GROS

DATE CHANGED TO FRIDAY, AUGUST 16

Born in New Orleans, John “Papa” Gros has spent more than a quarter-century championing the music of the Big Easy. He’s played it all — New Orleans funk, rock & roll, jazz, blues, Americana, pop/rock, and he swirls those styles into a genre-bending gumbo that pays tribute to his influences while still pushing ahead into new territory. Like Allen Toussaint and Dr. John, Gros is a proud local who carries on the tradition of New Orleans music, both honoring its past and helping to shape its future.

ANA POPOVIC

Ana Popovic has been moving west all her life. She fell in love with American blues as a kid, starting back home in Belgrade, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia), then moved to the Netherlands to study at the conservatory of jazz and world-music. She lived in Amsterdam for over ten years, and then in a single-minded pursuit of her art and career, she relocated to Memphis, TN to record and work with Southern musicians. Finally, two years ago, she moved her family to Los Angeles, California where she now lives.

Called “one helluva a guitar-player” by Bruce Springsteen and nominated for six Blues Music Awards, Ana has appeared on the covers of Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazine. Her albums ‘Can You Stand The Heat’ and ‘Unconditional’ were USA Today Picks-Of-The-Week and featured on NPR Weekend Edition, who praised her “Fiery technique on the Stratocaster”. Nearly all of Ana’s albums reached the top of the Billboard Blues Charts. She and her six-piece band have toured tirelessly, sharing stages with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa and many others.

AN EVENING WITH HOLLY BOWLING

Solo piano interpretations of Phish & The Grateful Dead

Texture, nuance, and a gift for dexterous high-wire improvisation are the hallmarks of San Francisco-based classically trained pianist Holly Bowling, who infuses jam band music with a technically advanced, emotionally rich style. After studying piano performance at SF State University, Bowling has turned her agile mind and interpretive prowess to the works of Phish on 2013’s Distillation Of A Dream album and the Grateful Dead focused Better Left Unsung (released December 9, 2016 through The Royal Potato Family). Her instantly compelling playing and unerring ability to successfully collaborate with other musicians in an impressive array of styles has brought her to the attention of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Gov’t Mule’s Warren Haynes, and other luminaries who’ve asked Bowling to perform with them. Already a rising star on the festival circuit, Bowling plans to continue to expand her solo touring, and recently formed a new band Ghost Light with Tom Hamilton, Steve Lyons, Raina Mullen and Scotty Zwang.

Tickets on sale Friday, June 14 at 10:00a.

HOUSE OF WATERS & JONATHAN SCALES FOURCHESTRA

A double header of groundbreaking musicianship is heading our way in July. House of Waters are one of New York’s most interesting and unique bands. Part funky jamband, part Afrobeat and part pan-Asian, there is no other group in the world who sound remotely like them.

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Jonathan Scales is likely the most innovative steel drummer on the planet. His stunning, virtuosic technique is obvious and apparent to any who have seen him perform, but it is his mesmerizing compositions and tasteful, avant-garde improvisation that set him apart from the pack.

8/10 CONSIDER THE SOURCE

Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source defy easy categorization. With their blend of progressive rock and improvisatory jazz, soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles, CTS blends disparate elements into an utterly original whole. A relentless touring schedule has earned them a fervent following around the world, with fans ranging from jam-band hippies to corpse-painted headbangers. TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, 5/17 AT 11AM.

9/5 NO QUARTER

For over 15 years No Quarter (a tribute to the Led Zeppelin legacy) has been pounding the Hammer of the Gods to Led Zeppelin Fans both nationally and internationally. This authentic Live Concert reproduction goes far beyond any group of musicians covering the same tunes you’ve heard on the radio for over 4 decades. Any musician can learn a song note for note. However, to do a full tribute with all of the subtle nuances and authentic look and sound and mannerisms is comparable to an actor preparing for a character in a film. In this case the characters are members of the Legendary British Supergroup. No Quarter captures the characters of John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and brings each individual member to the stage in their absolute Prime. Die Hard Zeppelin Fans and Rockstars they’ve shared the stage with have sworn they were watching the real group live. Hence the word being spread that No Quarter is “The Real Deal” when it comes to Led Zeppelin tributes.
