Hoot and Holler Returns Oct. 3!

September 5, 2020 8:16 pm

Yes, it’s true! It is the return of Hoot and Holler! We have missed our community desperately, and it is time to reunite together- safely!

Hoot and Holler is Roanoke’s only live storytelling event. Structured in the vein of The Moth, storytellers are given a theme and invited to share stories based on that theme. Hoot and Holler has quickly become a cherished event in The Star City.

The evening’s theme will be: “QUARANTINED” and, boy, don’t we all have a story for that?! During this time when we have all been so isolated, can there be any better way to come back together and connect? Let’s celebrate through story!

We could not be more thrilled to be partnering back up with Hoot and Holler: Our Stories. Out Loud. for this outdoor show in front of the venue at 1217 Maple Avenue. Get your tickets HERE.

*** If you are interested in submitting a story pitch, we ask that you send a private message to Hoot and Holler through Messenger. We like to hear the nitty-gritty details of your take on the theme. We ask for a beginning, middle, and end. What compels you to want to share your story? What have you witnessed during this time? What has surprised you? Shaken you to your core? Inspired you? Made you laugh? Broken you down? Given you hope?

Whether you are a frontline worker, teacher, parent, employer, business owner, restaurant server, postal worker, grocery clerk, dentist, artist, marathon runner, traveler, preacher, bus driver, psychiatrist, psychic, scientist, or skydiver- we want to hear from you!

** Please see all of the ticketing details for Covid safety and precautions.

***There will be a food truck (TBA) and beer and wine available for purchase.

We absolutely cannot wait to see you all!
