This September, 5PTS Outdoors presents the inaugural 5PTS Art Harvest, a family-friendly celebration of art, creativity, music, and community at the Dog Bowl at Black Dog Salvage.

More than a traditional art fair, Art Harvest is an invitation to participate. Throughout the day, guests can make something, learn something, listen to local musicians, meet artists and makers, explore creative installations, and contribute to community-created artwork and experiences.

Inspired by the spirit of the harvest season, the event celebrates the creative relationships that have grown throughout Southwest Virginia and around Five Points Music Sanctuary.

Make Something. Explore Something. Join In.

Art Harvest will feature hands-on experiences for all ages, including a community mural, live artists and mini-galleries, interactive art stations, a bubble garden, yard games, face painting, a goat petting zoo, and an Art-strument Station where guests can decorate and play instruments as they prepare for the afternoon parade.

Guests can also explore the 5PTS Art Gallery, featuring artwork and posters from the history of 5PTS Music, including opportunities to purchase autographed posters from past shows.

Local artists, makers, and vendors will be on hand throughout the day, along with food and drinks from Southern Belle Biscuits, Kefi Greek, Covenant Coffee, the 5PTS Mimosa Bar, and more.

Music, Community & the 5PTS Dog Walk

The day will feature live music and programming throughout the afternoon, beginning with a VIA Open Mic Session from 12:15–1:30 PM featuring musicians with VIA.

At 1:45 PM, Lucky Evermore will take the stage, followed by the 5PTS Dog Walk at 2:30 PM.

The Dog Walk will be a short community parade through the Dog Bowl featuring handmade instruments, artwork, bubbles, costumes, giant 5PTS heads, and, of course, plenty of dogs.

Dog costumes are highly encouraged.

The afternoon will wrap up with the Riverside String Band, featuring Paul Dempsey, from 3–4 PM.

Create a Piece of Something Bigger

Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale community mural with support from Artform Signs. The guided paint-by-number project will give everyone a chance to add their own piece to a collaborative work of art.

Supporting VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment

A portion of proceeds from Art Harvest will benefit VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment. VIA will also have a presence throughout the event with its VIA Press Shop, where custom Art Harvest shirts, totes, and other merchandise will be made onsite.

The event will also provide opportunities for guests to connect with VIA, learn more about its work, and celebrate the creativity and contributions of the VIA community.

At its heart, 5PTS Art Harvest is about celebrating what happens when a creative community grows together.

Come make something. Come explore. Come connect.
