Everything you need to know before coming to a show at The Sanctuary — tickets, seating, accessibility, parking, food, drinks, safety, and general venue policies.

Artist restrictions, age limits, camera rules, seating layouts, food trucks, and timing can change from event to event. Always check the individual event listing before arriving.

Most Common Questions
How can I get tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online through our events page. Tickets may also be available at the door with cash or card, depending on availability. Cash purchases at the box office are not subject to online service fees.
Do I need a printed ticket?
No. We can scan your ticket from your phone, or look up your order at the box office with a valid ID. Printed tickets are welcome, but not required.
When does the box office open?
Box office hours vary, but the box office generally opens around 4:00 PM on show days. For questions, call 540-795-5618 Monday–Friday during business hours or email info@5pointsmusic.com.
Where is 5 Points Music Sanctuary?
5 Points Music Sanctuary is located at 1217 Maple Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
Tickets + Seating
Entry, Seating, Refunds, and Show Changes
Do you have seating?
Yes. Seating varies by event and may include stool seating, booth/bench seating, mezzanine seating, and occasional chair seating. Reserved seating options are shown during the ticket purchase process when available.
Are all shows seated?
No. Some shows are standing room, some offer reserved seating, and some use a mixed layout. Check the individual event listing before purchasing tickets.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges are offered unless a show is cancelled.
What happens if a show is postponed or cancelled?
If a show is postponed or cancelled, 5 Points Music will notify guests through the website, social media, and email when available.
We will make every attempt to reschedule postponed events. Once rescheduled, ticket holders will be sent new tickets for the rescheduled date.
If an event cannot be rescheduled within a reasonable amount of time, the event will be cancelled and ticket holders will receive cancellation notices and refund details.

Are minors allowed?
Age restrictions vary by event. Please check the event listing. For many shows, guests under 18 are allowed with an adult. Children may not be left unattended.
Do I need an ID?
A valid, non-expired, government-issued photo ID is required for anyone who plans to purchase, hold, or drink alcohol. Anyone without proper ID will be treated as under 21.
Accessibility
Need an accommodation?
The Sanctuary is ADA accessible through the back entrance off 1st Street. ADA parking is available directly behind the venue. Advance notice helps us prepare seating, communication, mobility, visual, hearing, and other support needs.

What if I have a condition, injury, disability, or access need?
Please contact us in advance whenever possible so we can help plan the best available accommodation. Email accessibility@5pointsmusic.com or call 540-795-5618.
Do you offer accessible seating?
Yes. Mobility accessible seating is available for guests who use wheelchairs, mobility devices, or who cannot climb steps or stand/walk for long periods. Availability varies by event and layout, so advance communication is strongly encouraged.
Do you offer hearing accessibility support?
5 Points Music provides SUBPAC wearable units at no charge when available. These are typically available at the merch table on a first come, first served basis.
ASL interpretation may be available by request depending on interpreter availability. Please request interpretation at least two weeks before an event whenever possible.
Do you offer visual accessibility support?
Please contact us in advance to discuss specific visual access needs. We will do our best to support a safe, dignified, and memorable experience.
What should I do if I cannot access something on the website?
Email accessibility@5pointsmusic.com with the page or information you are trying to access. We will work to provide the information in another format and continue improving the site experience.
Parking + Arrival
Getting Here
Do you have parking?
There are several parking lots and street parking options around the venue. ADA parking and entry are available directly behind the venue through the back entrance. All other guests should check in at the front box office entrance.
Downtown Roanoke has a mix of lots, garages, metered spaces, and on-street parking. Some downtown parking is free on nights and weekends, but guests should always check posted signs and rates.
Where should rideshare or drop-off guests go?
Rideshare and drop-off should plan for the front entrance area on Maple Ave SW unless otherwise directed for a specific event. Please do not block driveways, accessible access routes, or neighboring businesses.
Is there re-entry?
No general re-entry. Once you are in, you are in. Guests may use the designated courtyard area when available, but may not leave the venue boundary and return later. Wristbands or stamps may be used for movement between approved onsite areas.
Can I go out to my car?
No. Due to venue and ABC rules, guests may not leave the venue boundary to access their vehicles and then re-enter.
Food + Drink
Bar, Snacks, Food Trucks, and Nearby Dining
Do you serve food and drinks?
The Sanctuary features a full bar with beer, wine, liquor, and non-alcoholic beverages. There is no formal kitchen or full menu, but light concessions and snacks are available at most events.
When food trucks are scheduled, they will be listed on the event page.
Can I bring outside alcohol or drinks?
No outside alcohol, drink bottles, or water bottles are allowed. Violation of alcohol policies may result in ejection and possible banning from the venue.
Where should we eat before the show?
There are excellent restaurants throughout nearby neighborhoods and downtown Roanoke. Some long-time 5PTS favorites include Lew’s Restaurant, Blue Cow Ice Cream, The River and Rail, Sidecar, and Lucky.
Venue Policies
Bags, Cameras, Smoking, Dress Code, and Safety
What is your bag policy?
Backpacks and oversized handbags are not allowed. All bags and purses are subject to search.
What items are not allowed?
- No weapons, including knives, guns, blunt or sharp weapons, or any object deemed unsafe or threatening.
- No illegal contraband.
- No outside alcohol.
- No drink bottles or water bottles.
- No selfie sticks.
- No glitter bombs.
- No unauthorized photo, video, or audio recording devices.
- No hula hoops, fire poi, poles, balloons, oversized props, or similar items unless specifically approved.
Do you allow cameras?
No flash photography or cameras are allowed. Photographers must be on the media guest list to photograph a show. Some artists may have additional restrictions. Check the event listing for more information.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed inside The Sanctuary. Smoking is allowed outside in the courtyard when available. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly. Wristbands may be required for courtyard re-entry.
What is the dress code?
Flexible. Creative outfits, costumes, concert attire, tie-dye, and personal style are welcome. Please avoid anything intended to create discord, division, or unnecessary negativity.
Are there other rules to be aware of?
- Be cool around the stage and equipment. No drinks on stage.
- Look out for one another. If someone needs help, notify staff or a volunteer.
- Be respectful. The way we treat each other matters.
- Drink responsibly. If needed, we are happy to help you get home safely.
Planning a Visit
Hotels, Rentals, Lost & Found, and Volunteering
We are coming from out of town. Where should we stay?
Nearby lodging options previously recommended by 5PTS include Hotel Roanoke, SpringHill Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, The Stone House at Black Dog Salvage, Sleep Inn Tanglewood, and Hyatt Place at Valley View.
I want to rent the venue. Where do I start?
The Sanctuary can host weddings, birthdays, fundraisers, meetings, and private events.
Do you have a coat or bag check?
We do not provide a formal coat check. A coat rack may be available for guest use, but 5 Points Music does not accept responsibility for lost items.
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes. Email info@5pointsmusic.com to check for lost and found items.
Can I volunteer?
Yes. We would love to have your help. Email info@5pointsmusic.com to ask about volunteer opportunities.
